Horse of the Month...

Duke and Taxi

Two Special Needs Ponies

Duke, 20, is rideable, but 100% blind.
Taxi, 19, suffered from a severe bout of EPM when she was younger.

Streaks Tax Relief, aka Taxi, is a sweet and friendly mare who stands at a mere 14hh. A battle with EPM left her unable to be more than a companion, but this tough girl has plenty of spunk left. She wobbles when she runs, but that doesn't stop her from cantering up for breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day. Taxi can fend for herself and eats well, but she cannot be turned out in a large herd of horses because they beat up on her.

Neet Control, aka Duke, abruptly lost his sight last year. He initially had a hard time adjusting to his sudden blindness, but has settled quite nicely into his routine. He lives in a field with a run-in shed, hay rack, and water trough and makes his way around while only occasionally bumping into these things.

These two special needs ponies found love at first sight when they were turned out together at SRF's farm in Hamilton. Duke provides safe company for a wiggly Taxi, while Taxi acts as Duke's seeing eye horse. These two love bugs are inseperable and really need a special home where they can live out their days together.

Please call if you can sponsor or adopt this adorable pair.
